A browser cannot run a cron job. Here is what happens instead.

• When you save a file, matching rules run immediately. This one is genuinely event-driven.
• On a schedule, a rule runs the next time you open this app after it falls due — not at 3am with the laptop shut. A tab that is not open does not run code, and nothing here pretends otherwise.
• A rule that missed a week runs once, not seven times. Six rounds of compression on the same document is not what “every day” meant.
